½ Day (3 hour) L1 Food Safety
The Level 1 Award in Food Safety in Catering is a qualification intended for learners working in the catering environment in low-risk roles but where there is an element of food handling. This could include bar workers, waiting staff, health care workers, kitchen porters and stock/store room staff. This course can be delivered at your place of business or a venue of your choosing for groups of up to 20 delegates
Who is this qualification for?
Learners gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone involved in the storage, preparation, processing, packing and handling of food. The subjects covered are regarded by the Foods Standards Agency as being important to ensure good practice and the production of safe food.

The course can be delivered at your venue on a date suitable to your needs. We could source a suitable venue on your behalf and run several open courses at our own venues.
This qualification is assessed by a multiple-choice examination.

Identify how food can become contaminated by physical, chemical, allergenic and microbiological Contaminants
Identify safe food handling practices and procedures for controlling contamination hazards from purchase to service of food
State ways to prevent bacteria multiplying and surviving
