Outdoor (Forest Schools) 5 Hour Paediatric First Aid Upskilling Course. 

All of our First Aid courses can be delivered for those outdoor practitioners or group leaders who require it. 
Who is this qualification for? 
This course is ideal to all those who already hold an in date Level 3 Paediatric First Aid Qualification. We add an additional 5 hours content in order to meet the requirements of most outdoor Governing Bodies, including Forest Schools. 
The course meets all requirements of outdoor and Forest School teaching providers and enhances the statutory requirements under Ofsted and EYFS for Paediatric First Aid. 
To meet the Paediatric First Aid and Forest School requirements, Adult and Child first aid will be included. 
Where and When? 
The course can be delivered at your venue on a date suitable to your needs. We could source a suitable venue on your behalf and also run several open courses at our own venues. 
Assessment method 
This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration and written/oral questioning. There is no final exam 
Successful candidates will receive a Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid certificate valid until the expiry date of their current Level 3 Paediatric qualification. 
Under current guidelines it is recommended that all First Aid Training is refreshed and updated annually. 
How long will it take? 
1 Days (5 hours) of tutor led learning. 
The course is 5 hours in order to guarantee the 16 hours training requirements of most outdoor national governing bodies and the qualification is valid for up to 3 years. 
Topics covered 
The course covers the role and responsibilities of the outdoor paediatric first-aider including: 
Outdoor First aid kits and contents, 
Providing first aid to a remote casualty who is unresponsive and breathing normally or not breathing normally, 
Providing first aid to a remote casualty who has a major bleed or burn, 
With head and spinal injuries, 
The safe use of a defibrillator and Improvising First aid and casualty evacuation. 
Simulated casualty scenarios covering many different illnesses and injuries.
